To evangelize Edgar Wright’s ridiculously awesome Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to über-geeks, iam8bit threw a full-on, balls-to-the-wall “house party” in downtown Los Angeles. The 10,000 sq. ft. space was designed using dozens of mismatched thrift store gems — flowery couches, velvety chairs, miscellaneous lamps, clashing rugs — resulting in the ultimate, brand-appropriate vibe. (After all, Scott Pilgrim courts the love of his life, Ramona Flowers, at a rager in the film.)
Honoring our Animal House forefathers, shitty fluorescent-colored photocopies were distributed to fans leading up to the event; and classic “red-style” cups were served up at the “KEG BUFFET” — a veritable grab bag of eighteen (18) international beers, marked by a 4-foot wide illuminated sign hanging high.
