Ramping up to the release of the videogame Dead Rising 2, iam8bit concepted and executed a series of events, starting in Seattle during PAX Prime, and culminating in the final, pre-launch installation in Los Angeles on the infamous Sunset Blvd. The game offers players over 200+ implements for zombie killing, so Sunday circular-style sales sheets were also passed out pre-event, advertising a “super sale” at “GREENE’S HARDWARE,” complete with a coupon for a “free chainsaw” to the first few hundred people in line. Inside, fans were given the opportunity to “shop” to their heart’s content at the one-night only pop-up store, choosing form off-the-shelf items like rocket launchers, handguns, grenades and mayonaise (yes, mayonnaise).
